Reem Abdou, also known as DRĖĖĖMY, is a genre-bending world-fusion sound artist, trauma-informed movement & meditation teacher, self-empowerment activist, and conscious community catalyst. She is the founder of the NYC-based women's music, arts, wellness, social justice, and environmental movement The Collective BAE and the co-creator of BASSyoga and ELEV8 Wellness. Reem’s work lives at the intersection of amplifying and evolving multi-cultural connection, collaboration, co-creation, and well-being for all as the cornerstones of Revolution. Highlighting especially under-represented female-identifying artists and the power of Earth- & self-awareness, she harnesses the healing arts to transmute spaces for collective meditation, revelation, liberation, and celebration around and for the Planet. As an Egyptian-American DJ and world music producer, her compositions are an Organic Electronica; an intentional, transnational communication of global rhythms, primal baselines, natural atmospheres, forgotten instruments, traditional melodies, tribal invocations — ancient sounds and future beats made for Remembering and Envisioning and Transforming that she calls Sonic Alchemy. Melding the ancestral medicines of movement, music, and meditation - drėėėmy creates environments for deepened embodiment and expanded consciousness that activate sovereign creativity within. Reem has performed at and organized immersive intentional experiences at gatherings, festivals, museums, art galleries, universities, and other cultural institutions across the United States & internationally.
