Destructive emotions, like panic, anger, anxiety, and jealousy, seem like enemies. Regardless of whether we follow them or fight with them, they can cause so much harm and frustration. But by working with our emotions in meditation practice, we can make them our friends. When we relate to emotions with awareness they can appear in our minds without disturbing us, and can even help us to discover our own natural compassion and wisdom.
